  • 6 pieces day-old croissants Tear into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks Use a mix of chocolate types if preferred
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for serving Optional, for dusting

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Tear day-old croissants into bite-sized pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.

Assembly

  • Pour the custard mixture over the croissant pieces and gently mix to ensure all pieces are well-soaked.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chunks evenly over the mixture.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.
