Ingredients
  

Cookie Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup Softened Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted) Ensure butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 2 Large Eggs Best at room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour Sifted before measuring.

Add-ins

  • 1 bag Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chips Use semi-sweet or milk chocolate.
  • 1 bottle Wilton Color Right Food Coloring Colors: Red, Yellow, Blue.

Preparation

  • Begin by creaming softened butter with granulated sugar and packed brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract, beating until combined.

Mixing

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together baking soda, salt, and all-purpose flour. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until smooth.
  • Divide the dough into three equal portions; leave one plain and color the other two with food coloring.
  • Fold in chocolate chips into each portion of the dough.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and press down slightly.
  • Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.
