Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar, softened butter, cream cheese, and egg until fluffy.
Add vanilla extract, then mix well.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a nonstick cookie sheet, leaving space between each.
Gently flatten each dough ball with the back of a spoon.
Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, until the bottoms are light golden brown.
Let cool for a few minutes on the tray before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the frosting, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth. Adjust consistency as needed.
Once cookies are cool, frost them and decorate with sprinkles or other toppings.
Allow frosting to set before serving.
