  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Your favorite brand will do
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs

Frosting and Decorations

  • Buttercream frosting Store-bought or homemade
  • Colorful candy or chocolate lights Like M&M’s or Skittles
  • Sprinkles Optional, for added fun

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a cupcake pan with festive cupcake liners.

Baking

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  • Carefully fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full with the batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 18-20 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decorating

  • Once cool, frost each cupcake generously with buttercream frosting.
  • Decorate with colorful candy or chocolate lights to resemble Christmas lights.
  • Add optional festive sprinkles for an extra touch.

  • Place the cupcakes on a festive platter and share them with family and friends.
