Ingredients
  

Cupcake Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 2 large eggs Should be at room temperature.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cups milk Should be at room temperature.

Frosting and Decoration

  • 1 batch green buttercream frosting Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 cup M&M candies For decoration.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a cupcake pan with festive liners.

Baking

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk to the dry ingredients. Beat until smooth for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decoration

  • Once cupcakes are cool, pipe green buttercream frosting in a circular wreath shape on each cupcake.
  • Decorate with M&M candies to represent ornaments.
