  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Add more for a stronger flavor.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips High-quality chips recommended.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until no flour streaks remain.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are set.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
