  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour Sifted for better texture
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder For leavening
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 zest orange
  • 1 zest lemon

Decoration

  • to taste colored sprinkles For festive decoration

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the egg, vanilla extract, almond extract, orange zest, and lemon zest to the butter mixture and beat until smooth.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Roll small portions of the dough into balls and shape them into wreaths by creating a small hole in the center.

Baking

  • Place the shaped wreaths on a lined baking sheet, sprinkle with colorful decoration, and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
