  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium to large saucepan, combine unsalted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and water.

Cooking

  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir continuously to melt the mixture while preventing it from burning.

  • Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
  • While still warm, sprinkle the milk chocolate chips evenly over the toffee and allow them to melt before spreading out.
