Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  • Roll small portions of dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Slightly flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
