Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut Can substitute with sweetened coconut as desired.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate recommended.
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers, unsweetened shredded coconut, and chocolate chips.
  • Stir the dry ingredients together until mixed thoroughly.
  • Pour in the sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, mixing until thoroughly combined.
  • Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish and press the mixture evenly into the bottom.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Cooling and Serving

  • Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool in the dish to firm up.
  • Once cooled, slice the bars into squares or rectangles. Optionally, sprinkle with extra coconut or serve with ice cream.

Notes

Consider adding chopped nuts or dried fruits for variations. Store in an airtight container with parchment paper between bars. They can be frozen for up to three months.
