Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set it aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Gently fold in the rolled oats and chopped nuts, if using.

Baking

  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  • To prepare the streusel topping, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a small bowl until crumbly and well combined.
  • Sprinkle the streusel mixture generously on top of each cookie.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the tops are set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
