  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions Provides flavor and color.
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper Can use any color bell pepper.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For frying the patties.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the cottage cheese and drained tuna until well combined.
  • Add the egg and stir until incorporated.
  • Gradually add in breadcrumbs, making sure the mixture holds together.
  • Mix in chopped green onions, bell pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Form the mixture into patties (about 2-3 inches in diameter).

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Carefully add the patties to the skillet, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and heated through.
  • Once cooked, place the cakes on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil before serving.
