  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Use quality chicken for the best flavor.
  • 1 oz packet ranch dressing mix Adds key flavor.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz) Creates a creamy base.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Use low sodium if desired.
  • 1 cup sour cream For creaminess.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Melted into the dish for flavor.

  • Optional Chopped green onions for garnish Adds freshness and color.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the base of your crock pot.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the ranch dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth. Whisk until smooth.
  • Pour the ranch sauce over the chicken, ensuring they are well coated.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking

  • Cover the crock pot and set it to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Check for doneness about 30 minutes before cooking time is complete; the chicken should shred easily.
  • Using two forks, shred the chicken in the pot.
  • Stir in sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese until combined, then cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes on low.

Serving

  • Serve over rice, with pasta, on a salad, or in wraps. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For storage, let cool to room temperature before placing in airtight containers. Refrigerate for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat with additional broth if the sauce thickens.
