  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
  • Add diced onion and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  • Introduce crushed tomatoes and broth to the pot. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Season with salt and pepper, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

Cooking

  • Add tortellini to the pot and cook according to package instructions (usually 3 to 5 minutes).
  • Once tortellini are cooked, reduce heat and stir in heavy cream, avoiding a full boil.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
