Preparation

  • Start by washing and drying the apples thoroughly.
  • Core the apples and cut them into thin wedges or fries of uniform thickness.
  • Place the apple slices in a large bowl, drizzle with lemon juice, and toss to coat.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar (if using).
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the apple slices and toss until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Cook the apple fries for 10 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping.
  • Once golden brown and crispy, carefully remove them and place on a plate lined with paper towels.
