Crispy and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure it’s at room temperature.
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar Use fine granulated sugar.
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar Light or dark brown sugar can be used.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For enhanced flavor.
- 2 large eggs Bring to room temperature.
Dry Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Sift before measuring for accuracy.
- 1 teaspoon baking soda To help cookies rise.
- 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.
Chocolate Chips
- 2 cups chocolate chips Semi-sweet or milk chocolate, as preferred.
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add in the vanilla extract and the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Scoop tablespoon-sized dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
