  • 1 packet gravy mix (approximately 1 ounce) Any flavor of gravy mix can be used.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 ounces) For a creamy texture.
  • 1 cup sour cream Adds creaminess to the gravy.
  • 1 cup water This is optional; can be omitted for thicker gravy.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential for seasoning.

Preparation

  • Layer the chicken in the bottom of the Crock Pot.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream until smooth.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring the chicken is well covered.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking

  • Cover the Crock Pot and set it to cook on low for about 6 to 8 hours.
  • Check for doneness as the cooking time ends; the chicken should shred easily and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken and gravy over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or chives for added freshness.

Notes

For best results, season the chicken well. Consider using chicken thighs for more tenderness. For a thicker gravy, reduce the liquid or cook uncovered for the last 30 minutes to an hour.
