Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Sliced into strips or bite-sized pieces
  • 1 piece green bell pepper, sliced For sweetness and color
  • 1 piece red bell pepper, sliced For sweetness and color
  • 1 piece yellow bell pepper, sliced For sweetness and color
  • 1 large onion, sliced Adds flavor and sweetness
  • 4-6 slices provolone cheese For melting on top
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Adds depth of flavor
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Slice the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into strips or bite-sized pieces.
  • Prepare the vegetables by slicing the green, red, and yellow bell peppers as well as the onion.

Cooking

  • Layer the sliced chicken at the bottom of your Crock Pot and generously season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the sliced bell peppers and onion over the chicken.
  • Drizzle the Worcestershire sauce over the mixture.
  • Cover the Crock Pot and set it to cook on low for about 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, place the provolone cheese slices on top of the mixture and cover again to allow the cheese to melt.

Serving

  • Once done, check the chicken’s internal temperature to ensure it is 165°F.
  • Gently stir the ingredients before serving to combine the melted cheese with the chicken and vegetables.
  • Serve the dish in hoagie rolls, tortillas, or over greens.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider adding garlic powder, onion powder, or cayenne. Avoid overcooking the chicken to prevent dryness. Leftovers can be repurposed in salads or sandwiches.
