  • 4 pieces chicken drumsticks
  • 1 cup chicken broth Keeps the chicken moist
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Used in spice rub
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to make a spice rub.
  • Rub the spice mixture evenly all over the chicken drumsticks.

Cooking

  • Place the seasoned drumsticks in the bottom of your crockpot in a single layer.
  • Pour the chicken broth over the drumsticks until they are partially covered.
  • Cover the crockpot with its lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  • Check doneness with a meat thermometer; it should read 165°F (75°C).
  • Remove drumsticks and garnish with fresh herbs if desired before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the spice mixture for a few hours or overnight. You can also sear the drumsticks before adding them to the crockpot for a crispy skin.
