  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 24 ounces jar marinara sauce about 1 jar
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper

For Serving

  • Cooked pasta for serving
  • Fresh basil for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, coating them evenly.
  • Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the base of the crockpot, ensuring they fit snugly.
  • Pour the marinara sauce generously over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well covered.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before the cooking time is up, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken. Cover again to let the cheese melt.

Serving

  • Once done, carefully remove the chicken from the crockpot and serve it on a bed of cooked pasta.
  • Garnish with chopped basil, if desired.
