  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Can substitute with homemade or alternative sauces.
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or frozen) Add spinach right before serving.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Add more to taste before serving.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Pour the chicken or vegetable broth into the crockpot.
  • Add the marinara sauce and heavy cream, stirring until well combined.
  • Sprinkle in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Carefully add the tortellini to the mixture, ensuring all pieces are submerged.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the spinach.
  • In the last few minutes, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top and let it melt.

Serving

  • Ladle the creamy tortellini into bowls, optionally garnishing with more Parmesan and fresh herbs.
  • Serve warm with garlic bread or a fresh side salad.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, reduce the broth slightly or let the sauce simmer uncovered for the last 15 minutes. Add red pepper flakes for a zesty kick.
