Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (optional)
  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 pieces French rolls or hoagie buns
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions
 

  • Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot and sprinkle the ranch dressing mix (if using) over it.
  • Distribute the au jus gravy mix over the beef.
  • Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then scatter the sliced onions around the beef.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  • Once cooked, remove the beef from the crockpot and shred it using two forks.
  • Toast the French rolls or hoagie buns, then fill them with the shredded beef.
  • Top each sandwich with a slice of provolone cheese. Optionally, place them under the broiler for a minute to melt the cheese.
  • Serve with a small bowl of the au jus from the crockpot for dipping.
