  • ½ cup unsalted butter Add more for additional creaminess, if desired.
  • ½ cup heavy cream Adjust according to preferred creaminess.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Sauté for enhanced flavor, if desired.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chives, for garnish Can substitute with parsley or crumbled cheese.

Preparation

  • Begin by peeling and cutting your potatoes into one to two-inch cubes.
  • Place the cubed potatoes into the crockpot and cover with enough water to submerge them.
  • Set your slow cooker to high heat and cook the potatoes for about three to four hours, until fork-tender.
  • Once tender, carefully drain out any excess water.
  • Return the potatoes to the crockpot, then add the unsalted butter, heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Mash the mixture until you achieve your desired consistency, whether smooth or slightly lumpy.
  • Keep the mashed potatoes warm in the crockpot until ready to serve.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped chives before serving.
