  • 2-3 pieces Chicken Breasts (bone-in or boneless, skinless) Use thawed chicken for best results.
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Can substitute with coconut aminos for gluten-free.
  • to taste none Black Pepper
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Water Optional, to adjust sauce consistency.

Preparation

  • If using frozen chicken breasts, adjust the cooking time to ensure they cook through.
  • Place the chicken in the bottom of the Crockpot.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, black pepper, and chopped onion. Stir until mixed thoroughly.
  • Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the chicken in the Crockpot, ensuring all pieces are coated. If the sauce is thick, add 1/4 cup of water.
  • Cover the Crockpot with the lid and set the cooking temperature to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

Serving

  • Once cooked, shred the chicken in the pot using two forks and mix back into the sauce.
  • Serve over rice, quinoa, or fresh salad. Top with green onions or sesame seeds for garnish.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate chicken in the honey-garlic mixture for a few hours or overnight. Adjust ingredients according to taste; add red pepper flakes for spice or splash of vinegar for richness.
