Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef Use fresh ground beef for best results.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for gluten-free option.
  • 1 large egg Cracked into the mixture.
  • 1 onion, chopped Use fresh onion for a better flavor.
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning to taste.

For the Gravy

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced Add fresh sliced mushrooms.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, and onion soup mix. Mix thoroughly with hands or a spoon.
  • Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a plate.
  • Lightly spray the inside of the crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.

Cooking

  • Place the meatballs in the crockpot, leaving space between each for even cooking.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the beef broth, sliced mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Pour the gravy over the meatballs.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or until meatballs are tender.

Notes

Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles. Consider adding steamed vegetables for a balanced meal. For thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with cold water and stir in before serving.
