Crockpot Salsa Chicken

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 ounce)
  • 1 cup salsa Choose your favorite variety.
  • 1 each lime Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Spray the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Layer the chicken in a single layer at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle taco seasoning evenly over the chicken.
  • Pour the salsa over the seasoned chicken.
  • Squeeze the juice of the lime over the salsa and chicken.
  • Add chopped cilantro on top.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Once cooked, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker with two forks.

Notes
