Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 lb bone-in turkey breast
  • 1 large onion (sliced thick)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 zest of 1 orange
  • ½ tablespoon fresh sage (chopped)
  • ½ tablespoon fresh thyme (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (freshly minced)
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ tablespoon fresh rosemary (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2-3 teaspoons salt (to taste)
  • 2 cups drippings from slow cooker (add broth if needed)

Gravy Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter (for the gravy)
  • ¼ cup flour (for the gravy)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the melted butter with the orange zest, sage, thyme, minced garlic, pepper, rosemary, oregano, and salt.
  • Layer the sliced onion on the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Rub the herb mixture all over the turkey breast and place it on top of the onions.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • For crispy skin, transfer the cooked turkey to a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 5-10 minutes.

Gravy Preparation

  • Transfer the drippings from the slow cooker into a saucepan.
  • Mix the melted butter with flour to form a paste, then slowly whisk in the drippings until thickened. Season to taste.

Serving

  • Slice the turkey breast and serve hot with homemade gravy and preferred sides.
