Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef Use lean ground beef for a lighter meal.
  • 1 28-ounce can whole peeled tomatoes, undrained and chopped Chop the tomatoes for better integration.
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 ounce package dry onion soup mix Enhances flavor significantly.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Can be adjusted to taste.
  • 2 cups macaroni Classic choice, but can be substituted.
  • 0.33 cup grated Parmesan cheese Add for creaminess.
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Used for melting on top.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Brown the lean ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5 to 10 minutes until it is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes along with their juices and 2 cups of water into the skillet, and stir until well combined.

Cooking

  • Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix and oregano over the meat mixture, and bring it to a boil.
  • Once boiling, add the macaroni, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finishing Touches

  • Once the macaroni is tender, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top and allow it to melt before serving.
