For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Let it sit at room temperature for about an hour before use.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Measure accurately for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pastel candies Adds a festive touch.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then add the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, blending until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and pastel candies.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are slightly underdone.
  • Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
