  • 3 lbs beef short ribs (bone-in) Choose high-quality beef for best results.
  • 2 medium yellow onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary (optional) Fresh herbs can be used for better flavor.

Preparation

  • Chop the onions and mince the garlic to ensure everything is ready.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the beef short ribs until browned on all sides.
  • Transfer the seared ribs to the crock pot.

Cooking

  • Layer chopped onions and minced garlic over the ribs.
  • Pour in beef broth and BBQ sauce, then stir in Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and optional herbs.
  • Cover the crock pot and set it on low, cooking for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning before serving.

Serving

  • Serve over creamy mashed potatoes or rice and drizzle with sauce.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs and accompany with steamed vegetables or salad.
