  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Allow to soften at room temperature
  • 15 oz can of chili Use a chili that contains beans or has some spice for extra flavor
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Adjust to taste; consider mixing in pepper jack for heat
  • to serve Tortilla chips or potato chips For serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature.
  • Spread the cream cheese evenly onto a microwave-safe dish.
  • Pour the chili over the layer of cream cheese and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chili layer.

Heating

  • Heat in the microwave on high for 2 to 4 minutes, keeping a close eye on it.
  • Look for the cheese to become melted and bubbly before removing.

Serving

  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips or potato chips.
