  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Wet Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted For moisture
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix-ins

  • 1 cup mixed dried fruit (raisins, currants, chopped dried apricots)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., almonds or walnuts)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your muffin tin with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.

Mixing

  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the dried fruit and nuts.

Baking

  • Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow muffins to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
