Flatbread Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese Use fresh cottage cheese for the best flavor and texture.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For brushing before baking for added crispiness.
  • to taste optional herbs or spices e.g., garlic powder, dried oregano, or black pepper.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, all-purpose flour, egg, baking powder, salt, and olive oil. Stir until the ingredients form a dough.
  • If you want to add herbs or spices, mix them into the dough at this stage.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it gently for just a minute or two until it becomes smooth.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it into a round disc, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Place the flattened discs onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the flatbreads are golden brown on the edges.
  • Once done, remove the flatbreads from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes
