  • 2 slices slices of bread (your favorite type) Thicker slices hold up better.
  • 2 slices slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your preferred cheese) Good melting cheese works best.
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or a butter alternative) Spread evenly on bread.
  • 1 optional optional: herbs, spices, or additional toppings like tomatoes or avocados Experiment with different flavors.

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. If desired, add herbs or spices to the butter for extra flavor.

Assembly and Cooking

  • Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the air fryer basket.
  • Layer the cheese slices on top of the bread.
  • Cover with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
  • Air fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
  • Carefully flip the sandwich halfway through cooking for even crisping.
  • Once cooked, remove the sandwich from the air fryer and let cool for a moment before slicing.
