Ingredients
  

For the Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 each egg
  • 1 packet onion soup mix Customize for added flavor

For the Sauce

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can be substituted with other soups
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation of Patties

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, onion soup mix, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix gently.
  • Form the mixture into medium-sized patties.

Browning

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
  • Transfer the browned patties to the slow cooker.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, pour in the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Stir well, scraping the bottom to incorporate all flavors.
  • Pour the sauce evenly over the patties in the slow cooker.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Serve hot, ensuring the rich sauce coats the patties.

Notes

Consider serving with mashed potatoes or rice. You can also add sautéed garlic for more flavor. Leftovers can be frozen for up to three months.
