Ingredients
  

For the sweet tea base

  • 4 cups water For boiling
  • 4 tea bags black tea Can substitute with green or herbal tea
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust to taste; can use brown sugar for deeper flavor
  • 4 cups cold water To dilute the brewed tea

For serving

  • Ice For serving the tea chilled
  • Lemon slices Optional garnish
  • Fresh mint Optional garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags.
  • Let the tea bags steep for about 5 minutes, or to your desired strength.
  • Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar until it fully dissolves.
  • Pour the brewed tea into a pitcher and add 4 cups of cold water.
  • Stir well to combine.

Serving

  • Serve over ice, and add lemon slices or fresh mint if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider adding fresh fruit like peaches or strawberries, or infusing herbs during steeping. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
