  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Boneless and skinless preferred
  • 2 cups French onion soup Can be store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Swiss cheese is traditional, but other types can be used
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For searing the chicken
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Sear the chicken in the hot pan for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Transfer the chicken to a crockpot and pour the French onion soup over the chicken, ensuring they are well-covered.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and set to cook on low for approximately 6 to 7 hours.
  • 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle shredded cheese generously on top of the chicken in the crockpot.
