Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound large shrimp thawed, peeled, deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes at room temperature.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pot to about 350°F.
  • Remove shrimp from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, and dredge in the seasoned flour mixture.
  • Carefully place shrimp in hot oil, frying in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer fried shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauces.
