Ingredients
  

For the Garlic Butter

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced

For the Sandwich

  • 4 slices bread (sourdough, whole grain, or white)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh herbs like parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter and minced garlic. Mix until well blended.
  • Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture onto one side of each slice of bread.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the bread in the skillet. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Top with the remaining two slices of bread, buttered side up.
  • Cook for about 3-4 minutes, then carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula.
  • Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown and crispy.
  • Once done, remove from heat and let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, allow the garlic to sit with the butter for a few minutes before using. Control the heat while cooking; medium to low ensures proper toasting and melting without burning.
