Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature for best results.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level for accuracy.
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans Consider toasting for added flavor.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the shredded coconut, chopped pecans, and chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For serving, pair with cold milk or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Consider drizzling melted chocolate on top for an elegant finish. Refrigerating the dough for about 30 minutes can help if it’s too soft.
