  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1-2 pieces chipotle peppers in adobo sauce Adjust based on heat preference
  • 1 tablespoon adobo sauce from the chipotle can
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Freshly squeezed is recommended
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • to taste Salt
  • optional Fresh cilantro, for garnish Chop finely and add at the end

Preparation

  • Start by opening the can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. Remove one or two peppers, depending on your heat preference, and chop them finely.
  • In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, chopped chipotle peppers, and the adobo sauce.
  • Add minced garlic, lime juice, ground cumin, and a pinch of salt.
  • Mix all the ingredients together until well blended.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more lime juice or salt if desired.
  • If you want a smoother consistency, use a blender or food processor to blend until creamy.
  • Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh cilantro if using.
  • Let the sauce sit for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to meld, but it can be used right away as well.
