Ingredients
  

Oatmeal Base

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk Use almond milk or coconut milk for a different flavor.
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Optional for added sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional.
  • 1 pinch salt

Toppings

  • to taste none fresh fruits (e.g., berries, bananas) Choose your favorites.
  • to taste none nuts or seeds (e.g., almonds, chia seeds) Provides crunch and nutrition.
  • to taste none cinnamon or nutmeg Optional for flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, bring the water or milk to a boil.
  • Add a pinch of salt and stir in the rolled oats.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the oats simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and creamy.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool slightly for about a minute.
  • Stir in the Greek yogurt until fully combined, adding honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract if desired.

Serving

  • Spoon the mixture into bowls and top with your favorite fresh fruits, nuts, seeds, and a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg.
