  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Full-fat or low-fat Greek yogurt works well.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Can substitute with almond extract for variation.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Gluten-free flour can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts Optional mix-in for added flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the Greek yogurt and vanilla extract to the bowl and mix well until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until fully combined.
  • If using, fold in chocolate chips or nuts gently.
  • Use a tablespoon to drop rounded dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
