Ingredients
  

For the Grilled Cheese

  • 4 slices slices of bread Choose your favorite type, such as sourdough or whole grain.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Softened for spreading.
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar or your choice) Cheddar is classic, but feel free to mix types.

For the Tomato Soup

  • 1 can of tomato soup (15 oz) Any brand will work.
  • 1 cup of water or milk For a creamy soup, use milk.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to your preference.
  • Optional: fresh basil or croutons for garnish For added flavor and texture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Spread butter generously on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place two slices of bread in the skillet, buttered side down, and layer cheese on top.
  • Butter the other two slices of bread and place them on top of the cheese, buttered side facing up.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook until the cheese is melted and bread is golden.

Cooking the Soup

  • In a saucepan, combine the tomato soup with water or milk and heat over medium, stirring occasionally.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Cut the grilled cheese into halves or quarters and serve alongside the warm tomato soup.
  • Garnish the soup with fresh basil or croutons if desired.

Notes

For a healthier option, use whole grain or gluten-free bread and low-fat cheese. Experimenting with different cheeses and adding vegetables to the soup can elevate the dish further.
