  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • to taste Salt and pepper

For Serving

  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving optional
  • to taste Sesame seeds for garnish, optional
  • to taste Green onions, chopped for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef, cooking for about 5-7 minutes or until browned completely. Stir occasionally for even cooking.
  • Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  • Add minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, stirring constantly for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
  • Toss in the broccoli florets, mixing well and cooking for an additional 5 minutes until tender yet crisp.
  • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Mix until cornstarch dissolves.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli. Add beef broth and stir to coat.
  • Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

For a variation, consider adding other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas. This dish is also great for meal prep and can be stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or frozen for 2-3 months.
