Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef 85% lean
  • 1 small yellow onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 tablespoons flour optional, for thickening
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 16 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup half and half
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 8 oz Rotini pasta

Instructions
 

  • Shred the cheddar cheese and set aside with the half and half.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, then add the diced onion and cook until soft. Drain excess grease.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in salt, Worcestershire sauce, and flour. Cook for 3 minutes.
  • Pour in chicken broth, scraping the pan. Add tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Cook pasta separately in boiling water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Slowly stir in the half and half, then add shredded cheese until fully melted.
  • Stir in cooked pasta and mix until well coated. Serve warm with garlic bread or salad.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat with a splash of broth to revive the sauce.
