Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados Should be slightly soft to touch.
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 2 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional) Add for extra flavor.
  • 1 medium lime, juiced Provides zest.
  • 1 handful fresh cilantro, chopped
  • to taste Salt Adjust according to preference.
  • to taste Pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • 1 medium Jalapeño, finely chopped (optional) For added heat.

Preparation

  • Cut the avocados in half. Remove the pits and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  • Use a fork or a potato masher to mash the avocado to your desired consistency, whether smooth or chunky.
  • Add the finely diced onion, tomatoes, and minced garlic if using.
  • Pour in the lime juice and add the chopped cilantro.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. If you like a bit of heat, add the finely chopped jalapeño.
  • Mix everything gently until combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.

Serving

  • Serve immediately, or follow the storage tips to keep it fresh.

Notes

To prevent browning, keep the pit in the bowl until ready to serve or cover the dip with plastic wrap pressed onto the surface.
