Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup whole wheat or gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a shallow bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and spray each lightly with olive oil.
  • Press each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring even coverage.

Cooking

  • Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch.
  • Air fry the chicken for about 10 minutes.
  • Carefully flip the chicken, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and add mozzarella cheese.
  • Continue to air fry for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Remove the chicken from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes
