Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups unsalted butter
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons fine sea salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 20 oz Ghirardelli Melting Wafers dark or white, melted according to package directions
  • 2 oz candy eye decals 2 packages (1 ounce each)
  • 1 package jet-puffed marshmallows for Ghost Brownies only
  • 1/2 cup chocolate jimmie sprinkles for 'Cousin It' Brownies only
  • 1/2 cup assorted Halloween sprinkles for Spooky Brownies only

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper or nonstick aluminum foil.
  • Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl and let it cool slightly.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolk, sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  • Gradually mix in the melted butter until well combined.
  • Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Once cool, decorate with melted chocolate, candy eyes, or Halloween sprinkles as desired.
