Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
In a medium bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pumpkin spice, and cinnamon.
In a large bowl, cream the melted butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Add eggs, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, mixing until just combined.
Scoop the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about halfway.
Bake for 11-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool on a wire rack.
For the frosting, beat together softened butter, pumpkin puree, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy.
Add orange food coloring to achieve the desired hue.
Once cupcakes are cool, frost generously and decorate with black icing.
